Milton MA Named Number Two on Best Small Town List
The Money Magazine annual list of "Best Small Towns in America" was announced yesterday. My home town, Milton MA, was named Number Two on the list. While I currently live in neighboring Canton MA, I am proud of Milton MA, which is where I grew up.
There are several factors the editors look at when compiling the list. tability of the real estate market is one factor. According to the article, prices in Milton have remained stable since 2005. While it might be an overstatement, overall prices have remained stable compared to some other towns in the state and across the country.
One of the other factors is the school system, with its new infrastructure, great test scores and the French Immersion program. Milton is located just outside of Boston, making it accessible for jobs and for access to culture and all that the city has to offer. There are numerous recreational opportunities in Milton as well. Crime is low. Quality of life overall is good. The median home price is just over $425,000.00, but there are many homes above and below that price point.
There are many reasons that make Milton MA a great place to live.

Christine - It's so wierd sometimes the AR people I think of these days when I see the names of places in all the stuff I read. SERIOUSLY!!! As I was reading that article, it was actually kind of fun thinking of AR people I could associate with the names of the small towns. LOL

A friend of mine alerted me to the fact that the Money Magazine list was out. Congratulations! That's great PR for Milton! Sharon probably lost points because we have such high real estate taxes and very little job opportunity. Still, as I'm sure we all feel about our hometowns, it's #1 in my book!
