Carnival for a Cure in Walpole MA

Looking for something fun to do in the Walpole MA area this weekend?  Consider heading over to the VFW Post at 108 Robbins Road, Walpole, MA and support the Carnival For A Cure.

Carnival for A CureThere will be games, music, bounce house, face painting and more.  Admission is $5.00.  All proceeds will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

The Carnival for a Cure was the idea of two parents of children with Cystic Fibrosis.  Doing the CF Great Strides Walk every year was not enough - so they decided to put together the Carnival for a Cure.

Here is their statement from the Carnival for a Cure Facebook Page:

4-year-old Allie and 3-year-old Sonya have a lot in common: they both love dancing, dressing up and putting on shows. They also both take dozens of pills a day, do hours of breathing treatments a week, and endure several grueling doctor's visits each year because they have cystic fibrosis, a serious genetic condition that affects over 30,000 people in the US. Please help us find a cure for this awful disease so that our girls can live the long, happy lives that they deserve.

The sad part is - these two cannot attend the Carnival!  Medical guidelines are such that two people with CF should not come within six feet of one another. That is because CF patients are more susceptible to illness and bacteria than a health person and the bacteria that one patient carries may be very harmful to another.

It's always nice to see a community come together to support one another!  Let's have a great turnout this weekend in Walpole MA!

If you cannot attend but would like to donate to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis, you can also make a donation to the Great Strides Walk.
